Sometimes we quilt, sometimes we stitch, sometimes we just drink tea. But the companionship is wonderful and the ideas flow like a waterfall........I usually bring some new project or other.....the UFO's lie in wait.......</span>Janhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16617982455177972248noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1937166192027712191.post-12770196959375013542010-06-05T15:37:00.000-07:002010-07-04T11:36:25.243-07:004 Quilters<div style="color: #f1c232; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Yikes I am away behind on my entries! One Sunday many moons ago 4 new quilting buddies got together to chat, snack, and yes, even do some sewing. Welcome Elizabeth to our little group! Your crazy quilt drove us crazy with envy. You are a talented lady!!</div><div style="color: #f1c232; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />
Since then life has gotten in the way--report cards, committees, coaching, and the never ending battle with "stuff" around the house.THIS TOWNHOUSE DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH CUPBOARDS!!!</div><div style="color: #f1c232; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"> The only remedy is to downsize the stuff.I downsized the house 3 years ago and now will say goodbye to bins and boxes of unused items (my 2 children are not sentimental AT ALL. They parted with lots and lots of childhood items (toys, books, endless arrays of things. I did pretty well too.)Next step:BIG yard sale in 2 weeks. But for now--a BEAUTIFUL fairy baby quilt to finish for my co-worker. It' s a surprise! SHHHHHH!</div>Janhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16617982455177972248noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1937166192027712191.post-69436316666560034942010-02-13T15:33:00.000-08:002010-07-04T11:43:39.344-07:00Lotsa Quilters<div style="color: #f3f3f3;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Well it's the</span> <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">February long weekend in our non-winter of 09/10.</span></span><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Still winter is winter--less daylight, boots, and too much soup.</span><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Though it has been nice to have so little snow to shovel, I miss the white landscape. It is beautiful and helps brighten up the dreariness of many days here. Oh well..................I was able to feed my addiction today............one of our lqs had a 20% sale to mark Valentine's Day :o).Sooooooooooooo I spent my allowance (ha) on new fabric to complete a pink and lime green twin quilt and a brown and cream polka dot fabric to complete a very modern print throw for a gift in the fall.Maybe I will finish it by then.............grin.</span></div>Janhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16617982455177972248noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1937166192027712191.post-12367961208209391102010-01-31T06:41:00.000-08:002010-07-04T11:43:09.167-07:001 Quilter<div style="color: cyan;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">DD is home this weekend to help me sort and file paperwork--the bane of my existence. <div style="color: #6aa84f;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Well the quilting weekend is over.Sigh.So many quilts, so little time.Though I am a novice I seemed to learn a lot by wandering around (when I should have been sewing) looking at everyone else's work. A triangle here, a curve there, wonderful fabric everywhere.</span> <span style="font-family: verdana;">Well I am smug about one thing. A seasoned quilter was fretting over a "mistake" she had made (it looked fine to me) with her inset fussy cut pictures. I was admiring her quilt at the unsewn stage.</span> <span style="font-family: verdana;">What about if you switched those 2 blocks and rotated that one 90 degrees, said I.Ta-da!! Problem solved!! 2 heads are always better than one I told her.I smiled my way back to my workstation. I may not yet be a great quilter but my math is still pretty good!</span><br />
